Business Acquisition Model – Zorro Food

At the age of 18, I completed my first business acquisition by purchasing Zorro Food, a confectionery manufacturing business, for R25,000.

The company produced a range of popular products, including straw sherbets, popsicles, packaged sherbets, and boxed sherbets. Rather than starting a business from scratch, I identified an existing operation with potential, acquired it, improved its value, and successfully managed its growth.

Approximately 18 months later, I sold the business for R150,000—a sixfold increase in value. This experience became the foundation of my understanding that wealth can be created not only by starting businesses, but also by acquiring, improving, and strategically exiting them.

This early success laid the groundwork for what later became my Business Acquisition Model, a framework demonstrating how entrepreneurs can identify undervalued businesses, unlock hidden value, and build wealth through strategic acquisitions rather than starting from zero.

Bahadur Investigations

In the early 1990s, I founded Bahadur Investigations, expanding my entrepreneurial journey into the specialist field of private investigations.

Drawing on my martial arts training, discipline, and analytical thinking, the business provided services including investigations, tracing, surveillance support, and electronic security solutions.

Operating in this demanding industry strengthened my skills in observation, problem-solving, risk assessment, evidence gathering, and strategic thinking—capabilities that later influenced my approach to business consulting, governance, and organisational systems.

Although my entrepreneurial journey eventually evolved into other industries, this venture reinforced an important lesson: every business, regardless of sector, contributes to the knowledge, discipline, and experience required to build future success.

Working on Entrepreneurs® Model

The Working on Entrepreneurs® Model was developed in 2012 as a psychology-based entrepreneurial development framework designed to transform individuals with entrepreneurial potential into successful business owners.

Rather than focusing solely on business skills, the model addresses the psychology of entrepreneurship—developing mindset, beliefs, behaviours, habits, discipline, resilience, accountability, and personal leadership. The philosophy is simple: sustainable business success begins with transforming the entrepreneur before building the enterprise.

The flagship programme is delivered as an intensive 10-day residential experience, bringing together participants from national, rural, and urban communities across Africa. The programme combines immersive learning, practical business development, and ongoing business coaching to support participants from entrepreneurial intention through to business creation and long-term sustainability.

Since its creation, the model has contributed to the development of thousands of entrepreneurs and has been implemented in collaboration with organisations including Working on Fire, the Department of Small Business Development, First National Bank (FNB), and The School of Entrepreneurship.

The Working on Entrepreneurs® Model became the foundation upon which many of my later frameworks were built, ultimately leading to the development of the Heaven on Earth Operating System, which expanded the focus from entrepreneurial success to whole-life alignment and human transformation.

The Casino Experiment

Over one year, Dr. Bahadur committed R400,000 to a controlled study of human behaviour under financial pressure, playing with deliberate emotional detachment and no illusion of control. What emerged was a repeatable social pattern: consistent public success draws onlookers into imitation, and when the shared outcome turns to loss, they attempt to transfer accountability back to the original actor. This paper names that pattern The Roulette Effect, evidence that autonomous decision rarely survives social pressure intact, since mimicry so easily masquerades as independent judgement. Naming it is the first step toward immunity: observed success confers no obligation, and imitation is not instruction. Understanding this lets the original actor stand in their sovereignty, and the onlooker reclaim ownership of their own choices.

An Academic Framework for Structured Companionship

The Dhanani Love-on-Lease Model reimagines companionship through the lens of clarity and structure. Blending academic rigor with lifestyle design, it offers a fixed-term, contract-based framework, typically 4 to 6 months, built on clearly defined roles, compensation, boundaries, and exit protocols. The result is a relationship model free from ambiguity: one that delivers mutual benefit, dignity, and emotional independence for both parties, without the uncertainty of conventional dating or the entanglements of long-term commitment.
